TEACHING, AND CHOREOGRAPHING
Coaching Young Artists: Teaching the Future Today!
Ana King is an experienced CHOREOGRAPHER, ACTING/DANCE TEACHER, and VOCAL/AUDITION COACH for young artists (5th grade to 12th grade). Working as a private coach, as well as with a performing arts center, Miss King is a wonderful communicator and mentor for younger performers.
The summers of 2018/19 Ana has been choreographing for The Grace Polluck Center (Camp Hill, PA) and their Summer Stage Sessions as well as additional freelancing jobs for projects or individual lessons. During these 3 week camps, Ana was responsible for not only teaching dance, but a number of other acting and movement workshops to improve experience and technique at an age appropriate level for middle school and high school students.
Choreography credits include: Mary Poppins Jr (CHYSS), James and the Giant Peach Jr (CHYSS), and Seussical Jr (CHYSS), Ghost Light (Keystone Theatrics)

Mariana (Ana) did an amazing job preparing our daughter for the entire audition process, covering everything from the moment she entered the room, to introducing herself, to stage presence and body language, and helpful advice related to her audition song. She treated our daughter in a very respectful and professional way, speaking to her as a fellow performer and not speaking down to her based on her age. Ana provided very detailed and helpful advice to my daughter on how to use her voice properly for particular styles of music and phrasing to convey the appropriate message. By the end of the coaching session, my daughter was better prepared than anyone else at the audition, and she received the role, thanks in large part to the advice and coaching that Ana King provided.

Mariana has made a positive impact on my daughter by helping her to build her confidence and become a better dancer at Camp Hill Youth Summer Stage. First and foremost, she knows when to be encouraging, warm, and patient. She knows when to push the students to reach their fullest potential. My daughter has cherished her time with Miss King and she has felt especially pleased with the positive setting she provides, even while working with dancers with various abilities and special needs. Her words, “Mom, she is super patient with everyone and knows what she is doing when she teaches us each dance.”
