BARE: A POP OPERA
SONGS FROM ACROSS THE POND
Under the direction of Ellen Orenstein, Ana King (along with the small and powerful cast) took on the challenge of dissecting and performing this incredible work by Jean Genet. This play took place at the Theresa Lang Theatre as a Marymount Manhattan College mainstage production.
This Off-Off- Broadway production of, "Bare: A Pop Opera" was a site-specific work titled, "Bare: In The Church". Taking place minutes from the historic Stonewall monument, Ana King was an instrumentalist interacting with performers and audience under the music direction of Ryan Defranzo.
It is not every day that one gets to work with a musical theatre legend and this production was one in a lifetime. Larry Fuller directed and choreographed this production, which took place in the Marymount Manhattan College's Theresa Lang Theatre, as a January Project. This was a joyful experience and was one to cherish forever.
